All have a 2-inch "handle" to insert in a holder or soft medium (such as sand) to give an even burn while upright. The length of incense shown is in addition to this handle length. |

| Burning Durations for Sticks, Bars, and Cones | ||||
| As the machine-made incense sticks are thicker than handmade versions, they tend to burn slower and therefore, last longer when used. The handmade sticks are cheaper however, and do contribute more to the sustainability of traditional skills and employment. |
