After a long absence due to availability issues, the popular range of Bai Suai Leaf Skeletons are back in stock at the GazLanNaThai.com online store.
Previously much demanded by our customers on both our own website, and on third-party venues such as eBid, these skeletons leaves are extremely versatile handicrafts essential materials.
Most commonly they are used with card-making and scrap-booking, and wedding favour makers worldwide know of their intrinsic beauty and usefulness. But their application doesn’t stop with leaving them flat. As the top picture shows, a little imagination can create truly stunning products for use or resale – the “basket of roses” in the photo was made using a string of “fairy light” Christmas tree lights … and several packs of red and green leaf skeletons.
The Bai Suai range of Skeleton Leaves is supplied in two basic leaf shapes – the oval, point-ended rubber-tree leaf, and the heart-shaped Bo (or Pho) tree leaf.
In the single colour ranges, where each leaf is dyed fully to a single colour, there are currently over two dozen variations in a range of pastel to bright to dark colours, covering the whole rainbow. Most of the main colours have several variations such as two oranges, two pinks, two reds, several blues and greens etc.
In the standard two-colour range, there are again two dozen colours with the standard format being to have the lower half of the leaf skeleton dyed to the named colour, and the upper half left in the creamy white “natural” colour that is present after the cellulose is stripped and the remaining skeleton is washed and sterilised.
Custom colour mixes are available to special order. For example, we have a UK reseller who has stock of three-colour leaves that are guaranteed unique to her. We have another customer who wanted all the colour range created with the pastel colours (lemon, light pink, turquoise, pale green etc) in place of the natural white tips. The flexibility of these products is amazing – what colour patterns can you think of? Please note that special colour mixes are subject to minimum order quantities that are geared for wholesale buyers.
Both leaf skeleton styles are available in a range of sizes.
The rubber-tree leaf skeletons are classified in one-inch steps from 3-inch (the primary standard size up to 9-inch, with miniatures being available at one and two inch rough size classification – those smaller two sizes are subject to a lot of length-variation within each pack.
The Bo-tree skeleton leaves begin at 3-inches, and again in one inch steps, are available up to 6-inches as a standard maximum size. By special order, but subject to a long lead time, sizes up to around 8-inches can be ordered – they are only made specifically to order and do suffer seasonal shortages (order a long time in advance if you want these bigger leaf skeletons). Sub 3-inch Bo-leaf skeletons are not at all common, and very difficult to obtain. Again, the same long lead-time caveat applies.
Australian customers may like to know that the finished skeleton leaves are non-viable plant part, but you should obtain an import certificate from Oz Customs before ordering – we need to include a copy of that certificate with your order to prevent seizure and destruction. Australia is the only country that presents this problem – even American Customs have no problem with importation of properly prepared leaf skeletons.
Trade customers, looking for wholesale supply, need to either contact us direct or via the “contact us” form in the GazLanNaThai store. We’re not yet able to hold sufficient stocks to keep permanent wholesale listings in the store, but made-to-order supplies are usually despatched within 7-10 days, depending on order size.
We’re hoping that the previous popularity of this product has not been lost, and hope to supply your orders with consistency from here on.
