Thailand Calendar

I’m busy filling this up with all the events and festivals that happen annually around Thailand – it’ll take me a while (and I’ve only just started as of Sept 2010) so please bear with me.  I’m hoping to get the full annual recurring calendar in place before month end, after that I’ll start adding the one-off events as I locate them.

I’ll also be adding a submissions page where you can let me know about local and regional events in your corner of Thailand, which I’ll then add to the calendar and events category.  Here’s hoping you find this section useful.

Please Note –

Event dates and programme details may be subject to change or cancellation.
Many of the festivals and events listed on Thailand’s official calendar of annual events are traditional Buddhist, Chinese, or folk festivals, the date of which is either determined by a lunar calendar or the waxing and waning moon. These are not staged events. The festivals reflect the rhythm of life in rural Thai villages and local traditions as observed in times past.  Please be respectful of these heritages when attending as a visitor, and dress with modesty for all religious events.

To ensure you have the most updated information, please reconfirm event details prior to travel.  Where possible, I have included contact details for organisers or the local Tourism Authority office responsible for the event on the details page of each event or festival.  Please be aware that especially in the Northern and North-eastern regions,  unexpected monsoon-season flash-flooding, and related infrastructure damages, can cause some events to be cancelled completely at very short notice.
